Description

Whiteknights is a house, likely dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of stucco, finished to resemble ashlar on the front, set on a base of stone rubble. The end stacks have rendered brick chimney shafts topped with old pots, and the roof is slate. The house has a plan of two rooms, a central entrance hall, and a rear left service wing set at a right angle.

The exterior is three stories high and presents a symmetrical three-window facade. The central recessed doorway is accessed by two stone steps, leading to an original six-panel door with a good overlight displaying its original pattern of ornamental glazing bars. Large twelve-pane sash windows with side margin panes flank the doorway on either side. The first floor has horned twelve-pane sashes, and the second floor has three-by-six-pane sashes. A timber modillion cornice runs between the house and taller adjoining buildings.

The interior was not inspected, but it is noted to contain a stick-baluster staircase with a curtail step.
