Description
Manor Holding is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century extension and later alterations. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill and an old clay tile roof with gabled ends. A large stone rubble external stack is located at the right end. The building has a two-unit plan, with the right-hand room heated by the large gable-end stack, while the left-hand room is subdivided. A single-storey outbuilding was added on the right side in the 19th century.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. There is a 20th-century wooden porch and a part-glazed door framed in moulded and ornamented timber. The ground floor has three small windows, while the first floor features two three-light wooden casements with iron opening lights and horizontal glazing bars. To the right, there is a low single-storey rubble range with a clay tile roof, a brick axial stack, and a plank door. The left return side has a plank door and an attic casement.
Inside, the cottage has a box-frame structure with square panels, tension braces, and a queen-strut roof truss. The room on the right contains two chamfered ceiling beams, a whitewashed timber-framed partition wall, and a moulded six-panel door. The left room is subdivided by an old stud partition.
