Description

Humber Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with later alterations and a 20th-century extension on the left. It features a timber frame with brick infill, dressed stone, and a brick extension, topped by a steeply pitched slate roof that has a brick lateral stack at the left end and a right end stack. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic, with a two-window range.

The entrance is located to the left of the centre and includes a plank door with a 20th-century rustic porch; there is a similar entrance for the extension. The ground floor has a window with a 20th-century casement to the left of the entrance and a pair of windows to the right. There are also two 20th-century gabled dormers to the right of centre. The square framing shows some stone infill on the left end, while the right return walls are made of dressed stone, featuring a small square window that lights the fireplace.

The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have beams and a large stone fireplace with a timber bressumer at the right end.
