Description
This is a row of houses and shops located at 18-21 Abbey Foregate in Shrewsbury, now used as a garage and restaurant. The buildings likely date back to the 15th century, although they have been significantly altered over time. They feature brick cladding over cruck framing and have a tiled roof. The structure is one storey with an attic and has a four-bay plan, including a cross wing on the left side, where the framing is exposed in the rear gable. The ground floor has inserted doors and shop fronts, and the dormers in the roof have been renewed. The central gabled bay is advanced but has been entirely renewed. Inside, there are four massive cruck trusses with braced collars that are visible.
