Description

The milepost on Bearstone Bridge is a cast iron structure, likely dating from the mid-to-late 19th century. It features a black painted base with raised lettering and has a triangular shape with a chamfered top that slopes towards the front. The top displays the word "WINNINGTON" in sans-serif lettering, while the left side indicates distances to "ECCLESHALL 10 / STAFFORD 17." The right side lists distances to "KNIGHTON ¾ / PIPEGATE 1 ½ / WOORE 2 ¼ / NANTWICH 10 ¼." This milepost is situated on Bearstone Bridge, which spans the River Tern.
