Description
The Thomas Memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 17 metres north of the porch of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Bishop's Castle. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a moulded plinth and cornice, topped with a pyramidal capping that supports an egg-shaped wreathed finial. The inscription reads: "In Memory of William Thomas Esq Late Town Clerk of the Borough who died January 17th 1792. Aged 49".
