Description

This is a farmhouse, likely dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. The construction is timber frame, with rendered walls on a painted brick plinth, and a plain tile roof. Originally a two-bay structure, it was later expanded into a ‘T’ shape with additions to the rear. It is two storeys high with a gable-lit attic. A brick stack rises behind the ridge, positioned off-centre to the right. The front facade has two windows, featuring 19th and 20th-century three-light wooden casements. The central doorway dates from the mid-19th century, with a six-panelled door (the lower two panels are flush, the upper panel glazed) under a moulded architrave, frieze, and cornice, and a rectangular overlight. A two-storey wing, constructed in the 19th century and featuring an external brick end stack, is attached to the rear. The interior was not inspected, but a chamfered beam was noted in the right-hand ground-floor room.
