Description
This is a disused cottage located on Moss Lane in Whixall, dating from the late 17th century with later additions and alterations. The cottage features a timber frame and red brick construction, with a corrugated iron roof that has replaced the original thatch. It has a two-cell plan, is one storey high, and includes a gable-lit attic. The framing consists of square panels, with two panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate, and the position of an infilled doorway is noted to the right. There is a boarded door to the left, accompanied by a 19th-century casement window to the right, and a contemporary fixed-light window immediately to the left of the infilled doorway. The cottage also has integral end stacks.
