Description

This is a milepost located approximately 180 metres north of Crossgreen Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The milepost features superscribed serif lettering, with the top reading "ST. MARY. S/PARISH," the left side indicating "SALOP/3 MILES" and "TO THE COUNTY HALL," and the right side stating "B.CHURCH/5¼ MILES" and "TO THE PARISH CHURCH." This milepost is part of a series along the Shrewsbury-Baschurch road. Crossgreen Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
