Description
Keeper's Cottage is a cottage that is now partly used for agricultural purposes. It dates from the late 17th century and has late 19th-century additions. The building features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with plastered and painted brick infill, and has a plain tile roof. The framing consists of small square panels, three from the sole plate to the wall plate, with long straight tension braces, and it is composed of two framed bays. The cottage is one storey with an attic and has a large external brick end stack on the east side. There are two gabled dormers on the south side, each with two-light wooden casements. The front also features a two-window arrangement with two-light wooden casements and a central boarded door. Inside, the gable ends have collar and tie-beam trusses, with queen struts and V-struts. A late 19th-century two-storey brick addition is located at the rear. The interior of the 17th-century part includes a timber-framed cross wall and chamfered ceiling beams.
