Description
Whisperwood Cottage is a mid-17th century cottage that has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick nogging and is partly rebuilt in painted brick. The cottage has a plain tile roof and is constructed with square panels, with two panels extending from the sole plate to the wall plate. It consists of three framed bays and is one storey high with an attic. There is an integral brick end stack on the right side. A large timber-framed full dormer is located off-centre to the right, featuring a jettied gable supported by V-struts and a pair of small-paned two-light casements. The front of the cottage has four windows, all of which are small-paned wooden casements with segmental heads to the right. The central entrance has a boarded door with a gabled porch. The left-hand gable end has been partly rebuilt. The interior has not been inspected.
