Description
Thatched Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been divided and partly rebuilt or refaced in the late 18th or 19th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill, and some sections have been rebuilt in brick, which is painted to resemble timber framing. The cottage has a thatched roof and is designed with square panels and long straight tension braces. It has a four-cell plan and stands one storey high with an attic. There is an off-centre brick ridge stack to the left and an integral brick end stack also to the left. The front has a pair of eyebrow eaves dormers with 2-light wooden casements. The façade has four windows, all 2-light small-paned casements, with two on the left featuring segmental heads. A boarded door is located between the first and second windows from the left, sheltered by a gabled porch. The right-hand gable end displays a collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value.
