Description

Lugwardine Bridge is a road bridge dating from the early 17th century. It was altered and widened in 1824 and has undergone further changes in the 20th century. The bridge is constructed of coursed and dressed sandstone, with a later addition of a steel girder and metal railings on the widened west side. It features three spans across the River Lugg, comprising three plain semi-circular arches and cutwaters on the piers on the east side, which is the downstream side. The parapet was added in 1824.
