Description
Rose Cottage and Malt House is a building of uncertain original use, reputedly a malt house, now divided into two tenements. It dates from the 18th century, with alterations and additions from the 20th century. The structure features part timber framing with a sandstone plinth, brick gable ends, and 20th-century additions. It consists of four bays aligned north to south and facing east. The east front has three doorways, with two storeys. To the left, there is a 3-light casement window, and to the right, there are four 4-pane casement windows. On the ground floor, there is a 2-light window to the right of a door, which has a plain canopy and a half-glazed door. Additionally, there is a 20th-century window and a third door to the left, which is accompanied by a gabled porch with trellis supports and another half-glazed door. The building is included for its group value.
