Barn And Cowhouse About 50 Yards West Of The Bury Farmhouse And Adjoining Outbuildings And Hop Kilns

The building is a barn and cowhouse dating from the 18th century, located about 50 yards west of The Bury Farmhouse and adjacent to other outbuildings and hop kilns. It features a combination of sandstone rubble and weatherboarded timber-frame construction on a rubble base, with a machine-tiled roof. The structure is a large ten-bay range oriented north to south. The barn occupies the six southernmost framed bays and includes a wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double doors in the sixth bay from the south end. The main east entrance has two square openings on the ground floor, a loft door, and a double doorway, in addition to the one in the wagon bay. The stable occupies the four northernmost bays and the building has two levels. The main east elevation features two square windows on both levels in each bay, along with two large double doorways. The interior has not been inspected.
