Description
This barn, located about 90 yards north-west of Little Daffaluke, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and has a corrugated iron roof. The barn features five bays that are aligned from west-south-west to east-north-east. The north elevation includes six vent loops arranged in two rows on either side of central full-height double-leaved doors. The west gable has a 2-light oak mullioned window with a thin transom and one pair of vertical iron bars in each light, positioned slightly above the eaves level and below a circular owl hole. Inside, the barn has trusses with raking struts connecting the ties to the principals. This structure is included as a complete example of a field barn.
