Description

This is a churchyard cross located about 12 yards south of the chancel of the Church of St Bartholomew in Much Marcle. It is probably from the 15th century and is made of sandstone. The cross has an octagonal shape and stands on three deep steps that lead up to a large moulded octagonal base, which is approximately two feet high and supported by a chamfered plinth. The square stump of the shaft is also about two feet high.
