Description

Number 7, The Southend, is a mid-19th century front attached to a 17th century building. It is constructed of red brick and features a machine tile roof with gable ends. The building has three storeys and two windows. The first and second floors each have two two-storeyed canted bays with sash windows that do not have glazing bars. The ground floor has a Victorian shop front with a moulded cornice supported by shaped brackets, which extends over a side passageway that includes panelled double doors. Inside, there is a chamfered beam. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 4, the Royal Oak Hotel, and Nos 6 to 11, as well as Nos 2 to 8 New Street.
