Description

Number 9 on The Southend is a building from the 18th century with a red brick front and exposed timber framing at the rear. It has a tiled roof with gable ends and features a moulded eaves cornice. The building stands three storeys tall and has one window on the upper floors, which is a 16-pane sash with a moulded case and a flat brick arch above. The ground floor has two modern bowed windows and a door, all covered by a continuous tiled pentice hood. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 4, the Royal Oak Hotel, and Nos 6 to 11 on The Southend, as well as Nos 2 to 8 on New Street.
