Description
The former chapel, located approximately 20 metres north of Upper Wythall, dates from the late 17th century and is constructed of squared sandstone with a tile roof. It is a single-storey building featuring rebated and chamfered windows with mullions. The west wall consists of two bays, containing two and three-light windows, and has a blocked doorway with a basket-arched head between them. The right-hand gable displays a 19th-century cross finial. The north gable wall features a high 2-light window under the gable, while the south gable wall has a blocked 2-light window on the right and a 3-light window above. To the left of the south gable wall is a doorway with a basket-arched head. Inside, the chapel is open to the roof, with softwood boarding on most walls. The roof truss includes a collar and a raised tie-beam, with a collar spanning between the upper purlins that carries a king-strut. The original purpose of the chapel is unknown.
