Description
Walford House is a building that dates from the early 19th century and was originally a hotel at the time of its listing in 1987, but it has since been converted into flats by 2013. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and features a hipped slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and has four bays. Most of the window openings on the main facade are blind recesses with stone sills, except for the right-hand bay, which has a sashed window with glazing bars on the ground floor. The two central bays project slightly forward under a pediment and are adorned with a tetrastyle Greek Doric portico. On the left-hand return wall, there is a two-storey canted bay window that features sashes with glazing bars. A rear wing of the building is rendered and also contains some glazing bar sashes.
