Description

Glanarrow Cottages, now divided into tenements, dates back to the 16th century, with later additions in the late 19th century and 20th-century alterations. The building is timber-framed with painted brick and plaster infill panels. Brick additions are present, and part of the building sits on a sandstone rubble plinth; a tiled roof covers the structure. It has four framed bays aligned north/south, facing east, with a main axial stack and later added gable-end stacks. The two-storey building features an upper storey carried on a jetty with curved braces to the east front. A section is underbuilt to the right end. The front features four 2-light casement windows, a canted bay window to the left, and a multi-paned bay window to the right of a pair of ledged doors. A single 2-light window is on the right, next to another ledged door. A 16-pane glazing bar sash window is found in the brick underbuilding on the right.
