Description
This is a late 18th-century barn located immediately east of Eau Withington House. It is constructed of red brick set on a coursed rubble stone plinth, with a slate roof that has been replaced with corrugated iron on the north slope. The barn features five bays and has three rows of staggered slit vents on the south side. There is a fairly low, segment-headed entry with double doors in the center and a plain door to the left. A further link to the left connects the barn with Eau Withington House. The rear has a full-height entry and a stable doorway to the right, while a lean-to structure masks the left-hand side. Inside, the barn has pegged king post trusses with parallel struts extending from the king posts to the tie-beams and principal rafters. The barn and the house together create a cohesive architectural unit.
