Description

This farmhouse, located approximately 80 meters north-east of Little Brampton Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and underwent alterations in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It features a timber frame set on a sandstone rubble plinth, with the south-west front rendered and the south-east gable end rebuilt in sandstone rubble. The roof is covered with Welsh slate.

The building consists of three framed bays arranged in a south-east to north-west orientation, with a large axial stack positioned slightly to the south-east of the center. A 19th-century entrance is located at the south-east end of the south-west front. The farmhouse is single storey with an attic, featuring two gabled dormers that contain 2-light casement windows. On the ground floor, there are two single-light casement windows and two 2-light casement windows to the left of a 19th-century gabled wooden porch with a ledged door.

Inside, the farmhouse has a cross-beamed ceiling with jewelled stops on the main beams. The 19th-century subdivision of the rooms has obscured the original entrance and through-passage, but two cast iron ranges from the 19th or early 20th century remain intact.
