Description

The cross shaft and sundial, located at the north-east corner of the village green in Dorstone, is possibly from the 15th century and was altered in 1812. It is made of stone and cast iron. The shaft is a chamfered square design with pyramid stops at the base, set in stone with chamfered angles that are level with the ground. At the top, it is capped by a cast iron sundial, which is inscribed on the underside with "IM/ 1812".
