Description
The School House is a house, likely dating from the 17th century, with an addition from 1740 and later alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built of rendered rubble with a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a gabled cross-wing extending southwest that is dated 1740. The wing to the northwest probably originates from the 17th century, and features a lobby entry against a stack at its southeast end, with four engaged diamond shafts. A late 19th-century school building is attached to the northwest end and is not included in the listing. The northeast front displays the cross-wing with two storeys to the left, featuring a two-light casement window on each floor. The date "1740" is displayed over the ground floor window. To the right is a two-storey section with a small two-light casement to the left of a three-light casement in a raked dormer. On the ground floor there is an entrance with a half-glazed door and raised surround to the left, and a three-light casement window to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
