Description
Oldhouse Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century, with later additions and alterations made in the 18th century, 19th century, and in 1977. It features a timber-frame structure with wattle-and-daub infill, along with rubble and brick, topped by a concrete tile roof. The building is a long house type, oriented east to west, with a two-framed bay house at the west end and a 19th-century extension to the west. There is a stack at the west end of the original house, which includes an adjoining spiral staircase, and a former cowhouse at the east end, although this is not included in the listing.
The farmhouse has two storeys, with a 20th-century plate glass casement window to the left of the 19th-century bay. The original house has two 20th-century plate glass casements, and on the ground floor, there is a 2-light casement to the left, a porch with a lean-to roof, and two additional 2-light casements. The rear elevation displays framing with two square panels high on the original house, with rubble around the stack. Inside, there is a door leading from the house to the cowhouse, which is likely original, and the house features stopped and chamfered beams.
