Description
This building is an outbuilding located about 20 yards south-west of the tower of the Church of St Mary Magdalene. It is likely from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some later alterations. The structure is timber-framed with brick infill, partly supported by concrete underpinning, and features a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular two-bay plan oriented north/south and is a single storey. The east elevation facing the churchyard has two openings with iron rails and bars, and a ledged door on the left side. The frame includes irregularly spaced posts set in concrete. The north gable displays a two-piece cast iron grille with a small quatrefoil motif, above which are exposed raking struts connecting the tie-beam to the principals. This building is included for its group value with the nearby church.
