Description
27 St Owen Street is a former house, now used as offices, dating from the 18th century. The building features a sandstone plinth and is constructed of brick with a plain tile roof and a brick end stack on the right side. It has two storeys and a three-window range, with a stone sill band supporting plain sash windows. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with a blocked fanlight set in a round-headed panelled case, which is topped by a simple hood on rounded pilasters. This entrance is flanked by plain sashes that have painted reveals and stone sills, all under gauged brick flat arches, with a painted brick pilaster to the right.
Inside, accessed from No. 25, the first floor features 18th-century panelling, a coved ceiling, and a fireplace. The ground floor also has a coved ceiling, six-panel doors with architraves and shelves above, a panelled dado, a late 19th-century fireplace, and wall cupboards.
