Description
This group of three headstones, located approximately 3 meters southwest of the south porch of the Church of St Giles, dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. Made of sandstone, the headstones are arranged in a single row. The northernmost headstone, dating from the early 18th century, features a winged cherub, a cartouche, and a convex inscription panel, although the inscription is defaced. The central headstone, dated 1677, displays two bunches of grapes flanked by stylized scroll motifs above a square inscription panel. The southern headstone features a primitive skull flanked by a scroll above a square inscription panel surrounded by a vine motif, also dating from the late 17th century. These headstones are fine examples of local craftsmanship and contribute to the overall setting of the church.
