Description
Gates and gate piers date from the early 19th century and are made of wrought iron and rusticated sandstone. The gates are two-leaved, featuring flattened spear-heads on the bars and curved rails, which are attached to decorative openwork cylindrical wrought iron posts topped with acorn finials. The square section gate piers are connected to flanking walls and have a recessed semi-circular headed arch with pilasters. These gates and gate piers are prominently located next to the Church of St Bartholomew and serve as the entrance to Homme House.
