Description

The Market Hall is a market hall built in the early 16th century, with alterations made at an unknown later date when an upper storey was removed. It features a timber-framed structure with a hipped stone slate roof. The building is an open, single-storey rectangular design supported by eight posts, four on each side. The posts are chamfered and show traces of moulded caps, with curved brackets above that support the wall-plate. Notably, the post at the north-east corner stands on the stone base of a medieval cross.
