Description
Church House is a house dating from the 16th century, with minor alterations. It features square-panelled timber-framing, with sections of wattle and daub and painted brick infill set on a sandstone rubble plinth, topped by a Welsh slate roof. The building has three framed bays aligned north to south, with the entrance located on the west front and a large central chimney stack.
The house is two storeys tall, with the upper storey projecting on a moulded bressummer supported by curved brackets. On the upper floor, there is one two-light casement window with partly leaded lights to the left, and two similar three-light casement windows to the right. On the ground floor, there is a leaded two-light casement window and one three-light casement window to the left of the doorway, which has a segmental head and a ledged door. To the right of the main doorway, there is a later 19th-century doorway with an overlight and a ledged door. Church House was formerly known as The Old School.
