Description
This outbuilding, located about 50 yards east of the ruins of Wisteston Court, is likely a former dwelling and store. It probably dates from the 17th century but was altered in the late 18th to early 19th century. The structure is built of coursed sandstone rubble, with walls featuring one row of timber-framed panels above, and it has a slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan oriented north to south and consists of two storeys with two bays.
On the west elevation, there is an open row of panels between the top of the walling and the wall-plate, along with evenly spaced three-light openings that have wooden mullions. The left-hand ground floor opening features ovolo-moulded mullions. The south gable also has a similar opening on the ground floor, which is set under a hoodmould. Inside, there are late 18th or early 19th century king post trusses that support a pair of struts to the principals, as well as a second pair of parallel struts from the tie-beam to the principals. At the time of the last resurvey in October 1984, the south end of the roof and all of the first floor were missing.
