Description
Castle Inn is an inn built in the early 19th century, possibly with earlier origins. It features a roughcast exterior and a slate roof, with two brick stacks at the rear. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands three storeys tall with a cellar. The front has a four-window range, including 6/6 sash windows flanked by canted bays with 2/2, 6/6, and 2/2 sashes, as well as 3/6 sashes flanked by 4/8 sashes above. The entrance is located to the centre left and consists of a part-glazed door with panelled reveals set in a fluted case. To the left of the entrance is a bay window, and to the right is a 6/6 sash window with another bay. All windows are set in moulded cases. The right side of the building is finished in stucco over rubble and features a 20th-century casement window and moulded barge-boards. The left side is painted rubble with a drip-course.
