Description

Lacon Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century or early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and 20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and has painted brick infill, with the north front refaced in brick and a tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned east to west, facing north, with a central entrance and a right end axial stack. It has two storeys and features two windows that have 2-light 20th-century glazing bar casements. Similar windows with segmental heads are located on either side of the doorway, which has an overlight and a part-glazed door. The right gable end reveals the framing, which is fairly complete, consisting of four square panels from the sill to the tie-beam, with V-struts in the gable.
