Description

Hergest Mill is an 18th-century mill with 19th-century alterations, located on Hergest Road in Kington. The building is constructed from stone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof, along with a stepped buttress stack on the north-west side. It stands three storeys tall and has various entrances, glazed lights, and openings on the north-west wall, some of which are blocked. The south-east front has late 19th-century additions, and there is a 19th-century wing on the south-east side. The race retains one wooden and one iron wheel spindle, while two overshot wheels were removed during World War II. Inside, the mill retains two vertical shafts and lower stones.
