Description

This is an 18th-century house located near Hergest Mill, originally part of the mill complex. The house is constructed of stone rubble with a hipped composite tile roof, featuring stone buttress stacks with brick chimneys. It has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar. The front facade has a three-window arrangement, with a mix of 3-light windows with leaded lights and likely later central casements. There are also three 2-light casements set within gables. A 20th-century glazed porch with double doors sits at the centre, flanked by 3-light casements. A return side features a 19th-century three-light casement under a brick segmental arch, with a fixed light above. The rear of the house includes a massive stepped rubble stack with a brick chimney, and a wing with a weatherboarded gable, a brick stack, and an 18th-century fixed window. Inside, the house retains spine beams.
