Description

Peattys Cottage is a 17th-century cottage, altered subsequently. It is timber-framed with a tiled roof, and features a large rubble stack with a detached brick shaft to the right. The main front has three rooms and is entered through a lean-to with a 20th-century glazed porch on the left. The cottage has one storey and an attic. It has four small 20th-century casement windows to the front, and two paired gabled dormers in the centre. A further ridge chimney is located to the left of centre. The facade is characterized by regular square panels extending up to the eaves. The interior retains the original trusses despite a raising of the roof. A large 20th-century extension exists to the rear and to the left, partly constructed in a mock timber-framed style.
