Description

The Godwin Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 6 meters south of the west tower of the Church of St Deinst. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features a moulded plinth and capping, along with a fielded rectangular inscription panel that has corner rosettes. This panel is flanked by balusters that have gadrooned bases and capping. The memorial commemorates John Godwin of Little Bernithan.
