Description
The orangery, located about 10 yards to the west of Holme Lacy House, is likely from the late 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed of brick with limestone dressings and features a hipped Welsh slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan measuring five by two bays and is a single storey high. The south elevation includes five round-headed windows, each with a continuous fluted surround and a dropped keystone, containing large glazing bar sashes. The central window is accessed by steps. A moulded stone cornice and a plain brick and stone parapet adorn the top, while stone quoins frame the corners. Entry is through two-leaved doors set in a similar round-headed opening on the right-hand return. Inside, the orangery features pegged king-post trusses.
