Description
The ciderhouse, likely built in the early 19th century with later alterations, is located about 30 yards south-east of Green Plock. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a weatherboarded timber-frame with a Welsh slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of three plus two bays, oriented north-east to south-west.
The south-east elevation includes a deep supporting wall that extends to the left of the weatherboarded upper section, reaching about 20 yards beyond the two-bay south-west extension. The north-west elevation features a late 20th-century ledged door at the center of the main three-bay section, while the right part is set back behind a lean-to canopy. The north-east gable has a square opening and a ledged door on the right side.
Inside the three-bay section, there is a complete cider press and mill, approximately ten feet in diameter, equipped with an oak rim and a draw-bar for a donkey. The trusses in both parts of the building have triple angle struts made from unsquared timbers.
