Description

Number 7 on New Street is a 17th-century building that was refronted in the 18th century, featuring a stuccoed brick front. It has a tiled roof with gable ends and stands three storeys tall. The building has two sash windows with glazing bars, with the second-floor windows being smaller. There is a band between the top and first floors. The ground floor showcases a canted Victorian shop front with a cornice on console brackets that extends over a side door. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 7 to 15 (odd), Lanark House, The Steppes, No 19, and the stables west of No 19.
