Description

The remains of a market cross, likely dating from the late 14th century, are located about 30 yards south-west of Well Cottage. The structure is made of sandstone ashlar and features a square base with a chamfered upper section that forms an octagonal upper face. At the center, there is a stump of a broken cross shaft. The base is set on an old millstone. Sir Walter Devereux was granted a licence for a market in Bodenham in 1379.
