Description
This barn, located about 60 yards north of Dinmore Manor House, is likely from the late 17th century, with additions from the late 18th or early 19th century. It features a timber-framed central section with brick infill set on a high rubble plinth. The barn has been extended at both ends to create rubble gables, with additional rubble catslide extensions on the south side. The roof is made of slate and corrugated iron. The structure consists of nine bays, oriented from south-west to north-east, and has symmetrical full-height entrances in the third bays from each end. The framing includes three panels high from the plinth to the wall plate, with brick infill panels that each have central cruciform ventilators. The end gables feature ventilator slits. The west gable includes two 2-light early 20th-century metal casements above two ledged cart doors, while the east gable has a 20th-century garage entrance. Inside, only a portion of the central area was visible during the last survey in September 1984, but it shows trusses near the full-height entrances with collars supported by queen struts.
