Description

Stoney Croft is a house that dates back to the 17th century and has undergone extensive alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with a sandstone rubble plinth, plastered infill, and weatherboard cladding on the east end bay, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building consists of four framed bays arranged east to west, with a raised roofline over the two western bays. A late 19th-century cross-wing is located at the west end, along with a rear lateral stack. The house is one and two storeys high; the north front has two 2-light casement windows to the right of the weatherboarded bay in the single-storey section. The two-storey section to the right features three 2-light casement windows on the first floor, while the ground floor has a single light to the left of the door and a canted bay to the right, all beneath a penticed roof. The blank gable end of the late 19th-century cross-wing is on the right. Inside, some chamfered ceiling beams are still visible. The building is included for its group value.
