Description
Oatley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of rubble and has a concrete tile roof. The building is designed in a T-plan, with the main section running east to west and a cross-wing at the east end, featuring stacks at each gable.
The east front has two storeys above a cellar and includes five 20th-century timber cross casements, which are topped by 17th-century ovolo moulded timber lintels. The central entrance is approached by steps and features a moulded wooden door frame with a ledged door that has strap hinges. This entrance is flanked by four additional 20th-century timber cross casements. The cellar is illuminated by four 17th-century, two-light casements.
There is a porch on the south side of the east/west wing, made of rubble and featuring a segmental arch. The late 17th-century ledged door of the porch has graffiti that reads "1795/TI" along with several heart symbols.
Inside, the ground floor contains plank doors with applied mouldings, and there is an open well staircase from the late 17th century that has a moulded string and handrail, turned balusters, square newels, and turned pendants.
