Description

Bridge Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-framed farmhouse with minor alterations made in the mid- to late 19th century, now in a ruinous condition. The house features plastered and painted brick infilling between the timber framing, with roughcast on the south-west front and a Welsh slate roof. A timber-framed barn adjoins the farmhouse at the north-west end, extending to the south-west; the roof material and infill of the barn are now missing.

The farmhouse is aligned north-west/south-east and has a three-bay layout. It features a south-east gable-end stack and an entrance on the south-west front. The house is a single storey with an attic, and includes a gabled dormer window that is now boarded, formerly containing two small sash windows. The ground floor has a boarded two-light casement window to the left of the entrance and a large boarded window to the right, formerly a tripartite sash window without glazing bars. A slightly cambered head sits above the entrance, which has a two-panel door. The interior is inaccessible.

The barn has three square panels extending from the sill to the wall plate, with inclined strut trusses. There are two struts to the collar, with V-struts to the south-west end. The barn formerly had a threshing floor entrance in the penultimate bay to the south-west.
