Description

A 17th-century cowhouse, located approximately 20 metres north of Luntley Court. It was listed as part of the cowhouses and barns at Luntley Court and then separated. The building is timber-framed, with rendered infill between the timbers, standing on a base of coursed rubble, and has a roof of graduated stone tiles. It comprises three bays, aligned north-east/south-west, with a lean-to addition against the south gable end. The south-east front has a single gabled dormer with wooden shutters on the left side. Most of the ground floor openings have been blocked, although a large doorway remains in the right-hand corner. The timber frame is arranged in four square panels high, and the gable-end trusses have diagonal bracing. Inside, the floor is cobbled with drains, one for each cow's standing area.
