Description
The barn and water pump located approximately 20 metres west of Paunceford Court date back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The barn is timber-framed with slatted infill and has a sandstone plinth that has been partially refaced with brick. It features brick gable ends and a tiled roof. The structure consists of seven bays aligned north to south, containing two threshing floors. The walls have three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, and the roof is supported by inclined strut trusses with two tiers of purlins. The brick gable ends have raised verges and a circular owl hole. Additionally, there is a cast iron water pump and a stone trough located to the north of the east threshing floor, included for group value.
